Basque National Orchestra

The monographic CD dedicated to Ramon Lazkano recorded by the Basque National Orchestra last September is on sale as of Monday, March 1st. This CD falls under a new line of recordings called "Música de hoy-Gaurko Musika" (Music of Today), and is part of the Orchestra's decision to branch out and release different types of records. Recorded for Kairos, the prestigious record label specialising in contemporary music, Lazkano is the first name in a line of CDs geared to contemporary classical music.

On February 27th the Orchestra will join the Orfeón Donostiarra in a concert in support of the earthquake victims in Haiti. The event will be held at the Kursaal Auditorium in Donostia-San Sebastian. Conductor Andrés Orozco-Estrada will be joined by a brilliant cast of soloists in a performance of Verdi's Réquiem. Tickets will sell for 45 and 25 euros and all of the money collected will go to the Red Cross for relief efforts in Haiti.
